Q4Max is a modification for Quake 4 that has been created to make the game more suited for competitions.
The most significant addition is the implementation of a multi-pov mode which allows spectators to view all members of a team at once. Coaches will be able to get a complete view of their team, Freezetag players will be able to view the surviving members of their team when they become frozen. Multi-pov is not restricted to teamgames though - it may be used in a duel to watch both players at once.
In addition to multi-pov coaching, this release includes a number of improvements for the teamgame experience, such as display of average team ping, and for players to lock and readyup their team without a referee.
There are also a number of changes for demo playback too. There is new functionality to improve the process of capturing AVIs from netdemos in Quake 4. There are also controls for demo playback to make it easier to skip through the demo.
Server demos have been updated significantly - the "follow" and "multipov" commands can now be used as if you were a real spectator, as well as allowing the scoreboard to be viewed at any time, and many more issues fixed.
This release also comes with Mac OSX support - Mac players now can connect and play on the same servers alongside Windows and Linux users.
A competition mod for Quake4. Besides the custom game types included, the mod does not stray away from the feel of standard Quake4. This version adds support for the
Quake 4 1.4 Beta Patch.
Some changes in this release include multipov functionality, with the ability to change the layout of the views, and cycle around the different players. Multipov has also been extended to support Q4TV, and can be used by any viewer at any time. Viewers of Q4TV may also be pleased to hear that the "follow" command (including "follow quad" etc) is available for use.... as is the "say" command (and cg_notvchat for those who dont want the spam!).
There are a number of other features, such as the ability for the client to predict the fire effects for rail, shotgun, and machinegun, removing the feeling of a delay in firing these weapons (cg_predict*), and the introduction of sizeup/sizedown commands.

The version is compatible with Quake 4 1.4.2, and adds a few fixes and tweaks of our own. One change is that si_fps is now controlled by modes - defaulting to 90 fps for Duel, and 60 FPS for all other modes. This will hopefully make TDM / CTF playable for more people. There is also a Battlesuit powerup (thx g0th) which mappers can use - currently no maps have this, but keep an eye out for new map releases.
This is our trailer for our Quake 4 modification "Q4Run".
Music: Professor Kliq - Ode to Charles
"Q4Run is a modification for Quake4. Primarily it''s based on trickjumping and combining tricks. The first idea behind this mod was to implement timers which makes it possible to finish a specific "run" map in a certain time and then improve it afterwards. Every run will be documented in a demo named after name of player and map and time. If you want you can share those demos with other players so they can watch your skill or can help you to improve it. Comparing to other times you can try to beat them or be proud of yourself because of better records."

An update for Windows QUAKE 4 players. This update is recommended for Windows users with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology) enabled processors, multiple processors, or systems with a dual core processor. The update is also required for Windows and Linux server admins as it addresses a recently identified problem with servers left unoccupied for very long periods of time (these servers will appear to be operating normally, but will crash clients that attempt to connect to them). This update will bring any previous version of the game (1.0.0 or 1.0.4) up to date and will not affect pure server, PunkBuster compatibility or protocol consistency.
d Software and Raven have worked with Intel to dramatically improve QUAKE 4 performance on systems with HT Technology, multiple processors, or dual core processors. Players who have a system with one of these configurations will notice performance gains in QUAKE 4 of anywhere from 25% - 87% depending on processor type.

This is a beta update for QUAKE 4. It fixes issues and adds gameplay elements throughout both single and multiplayer—including voice chat in multiplayer, a forecemodel option, a one-minute warning for tournament matches, fixed pure server autodownloading, Hyper-Threading Technology support, smooth stairjumping and a ton of multiplayer specific fixes which have been requested by the community and discovered during our own gameplay. In short, multiplayer is fixed. ;) For a complete list of new features, fixes, and changes,

This is the official QUAKE 4 PC demo. This demo starts from the beginning of the game as you and your fellow squad-mates make landfall in Earth's epic invasion of the Strogg home planet. You'll battle through two large areas at the beginning of the game, including a heavily guarded Strogg installation and the chaotic air defense trenches cut through desolate Stroggos landscape.
The demo also offers enough multiplayer action to keep you competing online for days, with two versions of the popular map, "The Fragging Yard" - one for larger matches and another specially designed for 1 vs. 1 combat. The maps are playable in deathmatch, team deathmatch and tournament modes.
The alpha version of the Quake 4 Fortress mod. They decided to release their latest alpha to the public since it doesn't look like they're going to have time to finish the mod. While the alpha is playable, its lacks polish and content and has a tendency to crash. They're mostly releasing it so that other Q4 mod developers may be able to use some of the features we've implemented, or maybe somebody else will want to finish off the mod.
This tool allows you to easily create simple materials for id Tech4 games (Doom3, quake4, Prey, ETCW etc).

Three new multiplayer maps for Quake 4.
>
Railed – Set in an abandoned, rusting Strogg facility, the environment in Railed produces fast paced frenetic tournament action. This new map is all about close-quarters combat and hair-trigger reflexes as players hustle through the winding, multi-tiered corridors. Designed particularly for tournament play, Railed also supports Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch game modes, and is guaranteed to provide some thrilling fast-action gameplay.
Tremors – Built within a twisting underground cavern and peppered throughout with pipes, bridges, and catwalks, Tremors demands tactical expertise. Enemies attack from above and below in the enormous, multi-tiered environment, making team-play invaluable. Tremors is perfect for huge Capture-The-Flag games, and also supports the Arena Capture-The-Flag gameplay mode.
Campgrounds Redux – With QUAKE 4's updated technology, Campgrounds Redux now has a fresh look and feel, revitalizing this QUAKE III classic. Excellent for any number of players, this updated version supports Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Tournament modes, where hard-core QUAKE fans can get crazy with this throw-back to one of their old favorites.

A Trickjumpinf Mod for Quake 4. This Mod comes with a lot of gametypes to train and enhance your Trickjumping. It includes 5 maps which want to be finished as fast as possible. Beat it!
The design of VIA Pinball Arena has been inspired my 2 greatest loves of gaming - First Person Shooters and Pinball. The layout is a symetrical design, which makes it fairly easy to learn and navigate. There are quite a few bounce pads that have been incorporated to push players around the map - this is where part of the pinball inspiration comes in. They have been used to semi-simulate pop bumpers (although are not at all random in the way they push players around, unlike pop bumers in pinball) and vertical upright kicker scoops. These are all located fairly obviously and it doesn't take long to figure out where they are intended to send you. Be careful though - they can make railslug bait out of you

Q4W stands for Quake 4 World, an obvious reference to QuakeWorld. So, what is it ? A return in the past to make Q4 feels like QW ? Yes and no, as we want to bring back some features of QW, but not only.
Q3 and Q4 have also great features we still want to find. Our goal is to offer to the Quake Community a different kind of game, base on speed, tricks, fun and what we think a better gameplay.
The whole idea is to have a game really fast, where movements can make the decision in a fight, and not only aiming. Where controlling a specific zone is really important, with precious items. A game where base weapons are not almost equals to the bigger ones. A game offering best of both world weapons, without making one too much powerful in a defensive situation.

We offer anticipation weapons and hitscan weapons, and they hurt a lot. They'll hurt you bad. It's about domination, it's not really newbie friendly, because spawnfrags are back.
Controlling the game is really important, a situation can turnover very quickly. No minimum time for respawn and a maximum of 2", respawn at 100/0 with only a MG with not much ammunitions... you'll learn how to win the hard way.
Earth is under siege by an alien race. The Strogg are cybernetic warriors - a mechanical frame and decaying body parts stabilized by flesh consumed in a systematic annihilation of other species and civilizations. ** This is the fixed color version. **

This update to Quake4 adds many new features and gameplay changes. Included in this Point Release is the new gametype named "Deadzone" and game option titled "Buy Mode".
DeadZone is a brand new team-based multiplayer gametype. Players fight over a limited number of DeadZone artifacts, then race to maintain control of a central scoring zone designated by a scrolling white border. Teams can accumulate points when one or more player from their team is in the DeadZone carrying an artifact. If each team has one or more players in the DeadZone with an artifact at the same time, neither team will gain any points during this stalemate situation. When an artifact is depleted, it returns to its initial spawn location and is available for pick-up. If a player is killed while carrying an artifact, it drops in that location and is again available. The first team to reach the scoring limit wins.
In addition to the Deadzone gametype, Quake 4 1.3 adds the server side option named "Buy Mode". "Buy Mode", which can be enabled inside any Quake 4 map, removes weapons, ammo, and armor from the map. You spawn into the map with a pre-set amount of points (1000 by default) with which you can buy weapons, ammo, armor, and health. By default, the letter "b" is bound to make the Buy Menu appear. Once you choose to open the Buy Menu, an entire list of items you are able to buy appears.
