The DeFRaG is a SOLO mod based on your movement ability and not on your skill against bots or human players. Therefore you can practice and perfect your-self on every imaginable and possible Q3A trick. In fact, as you should know, the more mobility you have, the more victories you can hope. The DeFRaG consists in several timered challenges and runs. The main purpose is about training and self-improvement, but on the other side the Defrag is a real competition mod which leaves you alone against an impartial judge, the TIME.

Defrag is addressed to players willing to improve themselves, to tricks-addicts desiring to train and monitor their abilities, compete, and compare their performance to others, to contest sites requiring cheat-prevention measures and a way to settle specific settings and rules, to mappers wishing some facilities and tools intended for tricks-jumping, to q3 video makers who want ingame camming features, and generally, to any player enjoying Quake 3 tricks and movements.
This major update refines the mod in almost every aspect, including renewed cheat prevention, advanced camera/machinima tools, significantly more accessible settings, better freestyle support, enhanced UI, and so on. Overall, defrag 1.9 can be summed up as being a matured version.
This release is fully compatible with point release 1.32 and protocol 68 demo format. Map packs are available seperatly. Changes include:

For the challengers, the five best players on each map will see their respective TIMES and DEMOS published on the site. We are waiting impatiently for the most impressive records. Merged with vq3 standard player movements into a defrag 1.61 version, the CPM physics bring their extra tricks and frantic speed to the defrag purposes. Beside that major upgrade, defrag 1.61 is also a general improvement of the previous version, providing some new tools and gameplay features with the use of stats tracking functions, reinforced cheat protection with bsp crc verification and strengthened timer-encryption features, and, of course, the habitual bug fixes and tiny details that improve the overall convenience of the mod.
The public beta of Challenge ProMode Arena v1.2. It is encouraged that admins put this release on their servers. If you do upgrade, you must delete the 1.11 files.The big feature of this release is obviously HoonyMode, but you could argue that it has two new gametypes rather than one: They've made a couple of small but key changes to CTF, and the end result is something that has very little in common with what CPM CTF is generally like now. The days of two people playing Defrag while 8 others FFA are over. Get used to the idea of escorting and path clearing for your FC, because it's going to be EXTREMELY difficult for even the best players to make a cap without proper support. With the increased skill demands, the difference between a great FC and an average one is going to be huge: something that Quake hasn't had since Q2.
RMG v1.0 is a tool that generates random map names based on your maplist and also allows you to type in the name of a map you want to play for VQ3 and CPM physics. You can also change between DeFRaG and FreeStyle mods.
