Built by Anaheim Electronics in UC 0083, the GP02A Gundam would have a short career. After Completion of the Unit at Van Braum City's MS factory on the moon, it would be transported to the federations Torrington Base in Australia , along with the GP01 Gundam for testing under gravity. Not more than 6 hours after the arrival of the unit, it was stolen by Zeon officer Anavel Gato. After a short struggle with Kou Uraki and the GP01, Gato was able to escape into the night with the GP02.
