This highly anticipated patch addresses a number of issues throughout both single and multiplayer, with a heavy and attentive focus on improving the multiplayer experience. Click here for a full list of changes. Such improvments include:

Fixed pure server system

Implemented an AddOn PK4 system similar to Doom 3(tm) v1.3.

Voice chat in multiplayer

Forcemodel option

Brightskins added! Pro models for Marine and Strogg have been added. They can be selected from the Multiplayer menu. Their names are "Pro Marine" and "Pro Strogg".

The FOV (g_fov) can now be adjusted higher than 110.

i prefer the joystick/trackball for its weapon selection and added acuracy. but thats just me. Madcatz made a great one called panther but its prone to break. anyway.

Uh, are you clueless. It's impossible to perform Quake's unique movement tricks with an analog stick. If you want to get owned on every server you join go ahead and use your joypad. The game was designed for mouse/keyboard which is still hands down the best setup for a FPS game.

you are a nob - first of all if people wanna play with a joypad then who are you to tell them its worse! and if you think you'll be better than some1 with a joypad just because you have an old school mouse then you're wrong! I'll beat ya on any server anytime!
