BattleBots Q3 is based around Combat Orientated design. Basically the players need more skill than just gimmicks. Currently the MOD comes with 2 Game Modes - Default and Battle. Both game modes have 2 game types: DM and CTF. For The Battle Mode, we have adjusted the air movement to give you great control over dodging and jumping, while the Default Mode uses default quake settings. We've also introduced a new scoring system to spice up CTF and RTF a bit more
than we already have. Now you'll be fully rewarded for everything you do in order to drive your team to victory. Here's how it lays out:
Flag Touch = 2 points: If you return the flag in CTF, you get 2 points, if you pick up the enemy flag, you get 2 points.
Flag Cap = 5-12 points: Depending on how long you carry the flag, the more points you get. A quick fast cap will net you 5 points.
Flag Return (Return the Flag only) = 5 points: In RTF when you return the flag by hand, you get 5 points.
Carrier Kill = 3 points: Kill that Flag Carrier and you get yourself 3 points.
Carrier Save = 3 points: Protect your Flag Carrier and get 3 points.
Base Defense = 1 point: Keep your base clear, net a point.
Base Defense With Flag at Base = 2 points: Keep the flag in your base safe, and you get 2 points.
Flag Carrier Holding Flag in Own Base = 2 points: Hold the enemy flag in your base, and stay alive, get 2 points. Also if you score a frag during this, you'll gain an extra point.

Julie Stepan mingles with the nerds waiting in the BYOC registration line. If you haven't been to QuakeCon before, you'd be surprised of the amount of crazy people which turn out for the event. We have some costumed crazies and a guy who looks like John Carmack.
