Roger LaMarca - Editor-in-Chief
Roger LaMarca is the owner and operator of QuakeUnity.com, one of the most respected and influential Quake websites on the internet. Having fallen in love with Quake2 back in the late 90's, transitioning over to play Quake3 & Quake4 was only a natural progression in the course of life. Roger has interviewed many important names in the Quake community including the top pro-gamer in the world Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendell and multiple employees of id Software: John Carmack, Tim Willits, Marty Stratton, Fred Nilsson, Steve Nix, and Adam Pyle.
Roger has made it his mission over the years to build the ultimate Quake community website, featuring a database of files made freely available to the community from the help of corporate sponsors all over the world. After PlanetQuake3.net became the largest dedicated Quake3 site on the web, it soon blossomed into an editorial and news hub. It's growth allowed the site to hire its first full time paid employee. A new era was started with the release of Quake4 in 2005. A new site dedicated to Quake4, PlanetQuake4.net was formed. PlanetQuake4 later merged with its sister site PlanetQuake3.net. Soon after PlanetQuake4.net's launch, Roger traveled to Dallas, Texas to cover the first Quake4 tournament in America. The event would become the first of many gaming events to be filmed in High Definition and made available online for download and streaming.
In 2008, Roger produced the High Definition video coverage of QuakeCon which featured the world's first QuakeLive tournament. Video coverage from the event reached over 300,000 gamers around the world.
